Monochromatic Spring

I'm crazy. Bubba has told me this before, but I really think it might be true. Sunday night, I packed my car full of stuff--a bag of punches, a bag of 8 1/2 by 11 paper, a file box of 12x12 paper, a bag of ink pads and some embellishments, my stamp kit, my big shot, a basket of assorted stuff, and a tub of stamps. Why? Friday night is my monthly Scrapbook Crop in Green Bay and when I leave Sunday, I don't visit my stamp room until after Friday night's big event. I go by my old Girl Scout Motto-Be Prepared. Although, I'm not. I left my Tabletop cutter on the stamp room table along with my basic gray paper! How did I think I was going to participate in this week's Diva Coffee Break Designs Color Challenge?

Basic Gray was kind of important! Well, I figured out a card that I like and that some very special people are going to actually receive in their mailbox! Crazy, I know. Please forgive the raggedy edges. I brought my 12 x 12 paper cutter, but no new blades so I have two dull ones. Ahhh.... the tragedy.

Stamps: Inspired by Nature
Paper: A Walk in the Park Designer Series Paper, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Gray
Accessories: 5 Petal Flower Punch, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, and Jumbo Brads

I loved the color combo, but when trying to figure out what to do, I got a little stumped. Finally, I remembered I card I seen just last night while blurfing from
Kirsten's Stamping Corner. Pretty, cool, huh? I needed a strong image, but not overpowering. This neglected flower from Inspired by Nature was perfect. I usually use the large coneflower and leave out the little guy.

Happy Stamping!

  1. This is such a beautiful take on this monochromatic color challenge - it's truly elegant, and I love shades of gray. Isn't that organza ribbon gorgeous?! It really adds the perfect touch on this card!
