A Scallop Scrapbook

Here it is, Twila;)!

I've been working on getting around to this project for a while. I found some time this week and I think it's darn cute!

Stamps: NONE!
Paper: Rock-a-bye Boy Simply Scrappin' Kit, Whisper White
Ink: NONE!
Accessories: Scallop Bigz Die, Big Shot, Acrylic Cutting Pads, Tangerine Tango Double Striped Ribbon, Bashful Blue Striped Ribbon, Crop-a-dile, Paper cutter, Paper Snips, 6x6 Page Protector, Chipboard, Glue Stick

How did I do it?

First, I adhered a strip of Designer Series Paper onto the long board chipboard with a glue stick.

I ran this through the Big Shot to cut both the chipboard and paper at once. I did this twice-one for each over. The back covers I ran through without chipboard, both at once. I used glue stick to adhere the blue striped side up on the back of each chipboard piece. I also used the Big Shot to cute 6 pages of Whisper White cardstock at once. Voila!

Now, the cool part that I learned at a Stampin' Up! Regional Event: I cut a page protector with the Big Shot to add a protective cover to my book. It's hard to see in the photo, but the 6x6 page protector is there! The light reflected off the cover in my first photo. I adhered the cover with two mini-glue dots. They become invisible.

Next, I added the ribbon and embellishments to the over over the page protector.

To finish it off, I used my Crop-a-dile to punch through the chipboard, the Whisper White pages, and the back cover. I added a binder ring topped off with a ribbon.

Inside, I used the die cuts stickers and papers from the Simply Scrappin' Kit to decorate a page per month. The beauty of using a Simply Scrappin' Kit to make this album is that each page coordinates and just goes together. It really only took a couple of hours for the entire project. Pictures can be added by the recipient. A perfect mother's day gift!

Happy project making!
