Cheers to Summer!

I'm feeling very celebratory tonight. Why? I don't have anything special to celebrate, just the fact that it is summer and I am fortunate to be able to do what I want when I want. (Well, almost...) I spent the other morning developing an idea that's been in my head for a while. I wanted to use my idea for my monthly Tara Angus Swap due on the 25th, so I knew I had to get designing. This month's theme is movement cards. These are the kind of cards that got me hooked on stamping all those years ago, so deciding on just one idea was going to be a problem. Since this idea was stewing in my mind the most, I thought I'd better get to it.

It gets better: THE INSIDE:

And another view:

Stamps: Cheers for You, Cheers Wheel
Paper: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Yo-yo Yellow, Taken with Teal, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, IN COLOR MARKERS (these are so cool, they require all caps)
Accessories: Big Shot, Circle Scallop Bigz, Circle Scallop #2 Bigs, paper snips, 1 3/4 Circle Punch, Circle Scissors, Modern Label Punch, Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Ribbon, Rich Razzleberry Designer Series Paper

I based my card idea on Kyla Maestas Pop Up Accordian Card on Splitcoast Stampers , but amped it up a bit. Here's how:

I used my Big Shot and the Scallop Circle Die to cut three scallops. I folded the first one in half being very careful to line up those scallops.

Next, I placed a second scallop on top, lining up the scallops, so that the bumps would match. Third, I added the third scallop the same way.

Then, I used my paper snips (when it was folded to cut two parallel lines. I would make these a tad bigger on my next one!

Finally, I lined them up and adhered them together, one on top of the other. I put this inside my regular sized card and embellished!
I'm pretty proud of this one, it's wayyyyyyy colorwise out of my comfort zone, but making 12 should cure that!
Happy Stamping!
