Christmas is a Coming

and I never get my cards done by Christmas. But this year, I will get them done. Especially, since there is such amazing papers to play with this year!

Today is the first official day of Convention. At 9 am I can pick up my bag, visit Momemto Mall, and swap til I drop. Later today I have two organized swaps scheduled. That means, one demonstrator organizes a group of swappers in advance around a theme. Today is the punch art swap and the "Are We Crazy, the Last Minute Christmas Swap." Here's my card:

Stamps: Best Wishes and More, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Garden Green, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Merry Moments DSP
Ink: Garden Green
Accessories: 1 3/8 Circle Punch, Snowflake Punch, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, 5/8 Chocolate Chip Grosgrain, Jumbo 5/8” brad, Glassy Glaze Embossing Powder

I own one stamp set with a winter theme before Convention-Best Wishes and More. Opps. All of my favorites got retired! This year, I could buy about 7 sets, I love so many of them. Anyway, back to the card.

I wanted the snowflake part to dazzle everyone who saw it, so I did emboss the entire circle with Glassy Glaze Embossing Powder. It took two coats, but worked well. When I went to make them for Convention, though, the GGEP stuck together something awful. I passed the job onto my embossing loving sister who gave up. It was that bad. Since then I have resolved the problem with Stampin' Up! I must have gotten some moisture in the jar. I did start the project during that hot, muggy week. I guess embossing like this is best done in Winter!

Happy Stamping!
