Beat the Winter Blues Stamp Camp

The Winter Blues have taken over. This week, I have been cranky, tired, and cranky. Did I mention cranky? My students sure know it! I love winter, but this time is a hard time! Especially, since it's been so cold (below zero for weeks) and hard to get outside!

To get through these tough times, I have a solution: STAMPING, FOOD, and FRIENDS!

Join me at the Beat the Winter Blues Stamp Camp
Saturday, February 7th

Stop by for about 2 1/2 hours of stamping between 12-4. (or later if needed)
My House in Neenah
1521 Ames Street

Stamper's fee is $20 for 6 three-dimensional projects.

Want a sneak peak of the FABULOUS PROJECTS?

Here are the first two: a candle and a treat box. The candle uses our new Raspberry Tart Designer Series paper, the Big Shot, and the new Sweet Stems Embosslit, and the large oval punch. So much fun, so little time! The box is something I saw on Splitcoast. On the side you can't see is long window made with the window punch. I planned to put honey sticks inside, but any chocolate will do. Both use bright, cheerful colors, and are meant to brighten the day!

Want to see another one? This idea has been milling around in my brain for awhile. I wanted to make a cute notebook with a band to hold it shut and finally succeeded. I am sure to make many more of these in the near future! This one is for keeping track of your score at a game night and includes a pencil with a fun topper, which you will see in a future post. Games are a great way to beat those blues!

Happy Stamping!

Lily's Ink Pad

Often, I get asked why my stamping email and website is lilyinkpad. Well, it's a bit complicated, but here you go. When I decided to become a demonstrator, I knew it was to make this a business, a second income for me that at least covered my hobby expenses. I also knew that I wanted a catchy name. I was brainstorming with Bubba using lily and he actually came up with Lily Ink Pad. I don't know how I didn't think of it first! The lily comes from being called Lily as a Girl Scout camper, junior counselor, Program Director, Naturalist, Crafting Director, and at Resident Camp Lakamaga!

But, there really is a Pad, where I create. I am lucky enough to have my own room to myself in the house. It's on the second floor and I love it. I like being upstairs. Good thing, because Bubba loves his Raider Room in the basement.

Over my Winter Vacation from school, I first needed to reorganize and clean before I could play. I had let things slide and my room was an embarrassment. You see, I am the kind of person that focuses on the project, not the mess, and it gets out of hand. I'm not good at putting my toys away! I love a clean room, though, so I let it get out of hand and then clean it all up. That's my process and I am not apologizing for it!

Here is a visual tour of my space:
On my door, I have a display of cards. I love this holder!

The room is pretty large. I use an old kitchen table for my table. I like it because it is sturdy and I fit a group around it for workshops, classes, and fun times! Plus, all my stuff fits on it when I get going!

Here is how I keep my tools close at hand!

I got these bookshelves on clearance last spring at a local store. They match the colors of my most of my stuff and hold a lot! I keep resources, workshop stuff, and scrapbooking on the first two. The cabinet holds forms, catalogs, envelopes, etc, and the final one holds shoeboxes with projects for my next events. I try to use the tops for a display.

I love this metal cabinet. Bubba and I got it from a family member. It so cool. It holds my stamps, Big Shot, and the bottom holds things to alter and adhesives. The purple parts are part of my new storage for 12x12. I needed to expand, so I got these folders. It then took a year to find a holder that fit them! My new ribbon holder fits nicely! What you can't see is my desk, my computer, and another two cabinet full of stuff. Boy, I need to stamp more to get rid of some stuff!

Happy Stamping!

The Spring Summer Catalog is Here!

Yippeee! A touch of Spring is in the air. I love winter, but with the recent chills (-35 below zero) I am ready for a bit of warmth. The new Spring Summer Idea Book and Catalog is here! To peek at it you can go to my website LilyInkPad and click on Shop Now. Or, you can host a workshop and get one free. OR you can contact me and I'll get you one for $5 with your first purchase or $10 with no purchase.
Enough business, time for fun!

This catalog is amazing! Decor Elements, new stamp sets, new ribbons, new buttons, new sticky cuts, new scrapbook paper, new Big Shot dies, new punches, new, new new! Did I mention a new circle cutter? WOW!

I've also been up to making a few samples of some of the new sets I was able to pre-order as a demonstrator.

Stamps: Game Night, Celebrate Everything
Paper: Jackpot Designer Series Paper, Basic Black, So Saffron

Stamps: Sweet Stems
Paper: Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper, Old Olive, Regal Rose
Ink: Rose Red

Ink: Basic Black, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Blender pen, piercing template, Vintage Brads, Crop-a-dile, Jumbo Eyelets

Homeade Valentines Oh My!

Although, I rarely am on time with Christmas Cards, I love to send Valentine's to those I love. Since I met Bubba, the holiday means a bit more! Sappy, I know.

In the mail this week, I received a very special card from my upline, Connie. She sends out cards to her top ten each month. She makes the cutest, neatest, and classiest cards. Enough chatter, here it is:

When this card opens, it gets cuter:

Stamps: Love You Much
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Bella Rose Designer Series Paper, Riding Hood Red
Ink: Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Round Scallop Punch, Two way glue, dazzling diamonds, 1 1/3 Circle Punch, scoring blade on 12" paper cutter, Ridiing Hood Red Double Striped Ribbon

The other valentine I have to show you is one I made for the New Years Eve's Challenges on Splitcoast Stampers. The challenge was to make a "black tie" style card using Black, Silver, and White. I immediately thought of the set called from the Holiday Mini Catalog (which you can still get in the new Spring-Summer Catalog)! HOW COOL! Bubba is a Raider fan and silver and black have been a new part of my color palette the past few years!

Shhh! Don't tell him! I doubt he reads this, so he won't know when he gets it February 14th!
Stamps:
Paper: Basic Black, Brushed Silver, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: Silver Embossing Powder, Heat gun, Silver Elastic Cord (only available in the Holiday Mini until January 31!), Corner Rounder Punch, medium oval punch, large oval punch

The picture just didn't turn out well. The flash took out the background imaging I did on the Basic Black with versamark and the large heart from that set.

I hope you are finding time to make projects that help spread the love!

Just a reminder: the Fall-Winter Catalog ends January 18th. Be sure to place any last minute orders of retiring merchandise or Inventory Blow-out orders ASAP!

Happy Stamping!

Family Fun for the Ronald McDonald House!

Where else can you go to stay when your child is ill or injured and in a far-away hospital? No where. The Ronald McDonald House in Marshfield can serve up to ten families at one time. I was deeply touched by the serenity and generosity of the Ronald McDonald House and am grateful that I am in a position, as Lead Demonstrator for the Ronald McDonald House in Marshfield, to give back. Marshfield is my hometown and as Girl Scout, I helped them fulfill the needs of their wishlist. Funny how life goes full circle!

Anyhoo.... Each month, I will tell you about the donation drive and the projects brought to the house. Last month, my trunk was full of food drive items! I had 5 boxes, and two bags of stuff. My Yaris's trunk usually looks big, but this time, it was full!

January brings forced indoor retreats. On the wishlist was Family-friendly DVD's, so this month's mission is to get as many DVD's as possible! Donations can be sent to me personally, leave a comment and I'll email you my address, or to me via paypal at my email lilyinkpad@yahoo.com. All money will be receipted and used to purchase DVDS! This month's donation deadline is January 25th.

I cannot tell you about the projects for this month. How fair would that be? But I do have pictures of the projects I made last month....journals.

When I was at the RMH in Milwaukee, we were always in need of paper. So often, we wanted to document something... progress, retreat, who called, who came, fun memories, but we ran out of paper. An envelope served as an address book! I had a stash of hardcover notebooks and used them to create 12 journals. Half used Baja Breeze paper and half used the Outlaw Simply Scrappin' Kit. Both retired last summer, but are dear to my heart.

I hope that in your own stamping, you can find a way to give back!

Happy Stamping!

Flight of the Butterfly ... Spring Will Come Some day!

As it snows outside and I avoid venturing out to shovel, I needed some spring inspiration. I turned to my pals at Splitcoast Stampers and participated in an demonstrator-only challenge. Each month, a demonstrator is chosen as a WICKED stamper and hostesses three challenges. I chose the color challenge- Baja Breeze, Cameo Coral, and Blush Blossom. Yes, I did. (that was for my sister who is going to be amazed I used any shade of pink).

Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly

Paper: Baja Breeze, Blush Blossom, Whisper White

Ink: Baja Breeze, Cameo Coral

Accessories: Big Shot, Bigz Scallop #2, Coluzzle, White Taffeta Ribbon

When I needed inspiration, it was for a totally different project-my calender class. As I worked withe supplies, this card came out. I was having issues with the colors. I don't even own a Cameo Coral ink pad! That's how much I do not like that shade of pink! When I put the scallop on my calendar front, I realized it would make a cool version of a kick-stand card. I used my coluzzle to cut out the Whisper White Circle. I played with my Big Shot, too, to make the scallop. You are sure to be seeing more of those; it was so fun to make it!

Happy Stamping and remember, there is always Spring in the middle of Winter!

Inventory Blow-Out Samples

Hi all. I decided to look through my projects and find some samples of great items on the Inventory Blow-out list and the retiring accessories list. Here's a tour.

From one of my favorite stamp sets:
It's a Crab and Company water party! I used Blue Bayou and Soft Sky for the base colors.

Now for a few snowy favorites!

When I first got this wheel from the Holiday Mini catalog, I loved it. It's called Snow. I use it all the time! This will be a sad one to let go!

Again, I used Blue Bayou and Soft Sky as my base. I inked the wheel using white craft ink and embossed with white embossing ink. The designer paper is not available anymore, but was fun. Remember how sore your hand would get making scallops, using the slit punch? I am glad we have a new way!

This version uses a hostess set from long ago. The colors are Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate, and Basic Gray. So fun!

Here is Haiku paper. One of my favorites! I used this for our wedding pictures. This is a lid I decorated using Haiku paper. The stamp set is Eastern Blooms, which is still available.
I hope you enjoy your time down memory lane!
