Father's Day--in the Woods

Around this time of year, I think of hiking, walking, well, actually, chasing my Grandpa through the woods on his farm he had memorized. He would point left and say Spring Beauties, take a few more gigantic steps, point rightr and say Jack-in-the-Pulpit. I never really knew what he was pointing at, but my Grandma would fill me in. Now, every year, I check out the spring flowers in the woods. Why the trip down memory lane? If my grandpa was still around, I'd give him this card:

Stamps: Lovely As a Tree, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Soft Suede, Garden Green Marker, Soft Suede Marker, Brocade Blue Marker
Paper: Naturals Ivory, Soft Suede, Brocade Blue
Accessories: Aquapainter

The card may appear mangled. This is not an illusion. This is what happens to a sample card when you drop it, step on it, and smush it into the stair tread.

This is a cool technique. First, I colored the stamp with Soft Suede for the trunks and Garden Green for the leaves and grass. After stamping, I then used my aquapainter to make the leaves and trunks show up like Spring. So easy and fun. The more water, the more watery it looks. Less water has a really cool effect as my Stamping friends figured out during my recent Stamp Camps.

Happy Stamping!
