A Tropical Heat-Wave

When I designed this card, we were in the middle of the tropical heat wave up here in Wisconsin in May. Since then, my school year has wound down, I've had a little stomach flu, and I've been busy stamping when I can. Sorry for the lack of posts, but life has to be lived sometimes!

Stamps: None
Paper: Tropical Party Designer Series Paper, So Saffron, Rose Red, Tempting Turquoise, Vellum Cardstock
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, So Saffron
Accessories: Island Floral Bigz Die, Sticky Strip, Microbeads, 12" Paper Trimmer with Scoring Blade, Straw (missing from photo), bamboo skewer, sponge daubers

I love these cup cards, but never really had a chance to make them before. This paper screamed at me: "Make me into a cup card!" so I did. I first made a paper template for the cup by trimming a piece of cardboard (from the DSP packaging), to about 4". I then cut an angle to make a trapezoid. I used the other half after flipping it to create the other side. Know what I mean?
I used the flower die to create an umbrella/flower. I just folded down the petals and then used mini glue dots to adhere the flowers to the stick.

Now, it's time to celebrate with a little stamping time!

Happy stamping!
