Stampin' Addicts Holiday Mini Blog Hop--Gently Falling

Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts Holiday Mini Catalog Blog Hop. Have you been having fun seeing amazing projects you can make with the amazing products in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog? Either you came from Heidi's Blog, Running with Scissors Stamper, featuring her cute projects with Out on a Limb, you are starting here on my blog, or you went backwards and came from Adriana's blog, Escape to Stamp, with her gorgeous projects with the Spice Cake Designer Series Fabric, you are in for a great hop around to all of the stops!

At Stampin' Up! Convention in July, I witnessed the unveiling of the Holiday Mini Product Suites, and Oh my Gosh--they made the Spice Cake one just for me! That's why I chose Gently Falling for this blog hop. My projects will feature the set, along with the Spice Cake paper and fabric. I mean, they go together so well!

First, check out the labels on my jars. I love blue jars (and own a few), but when moving the last time, I realized I had to downsize so only kept these two. The paper goes perfectly with them--and I added a little fabric topper using my Big Shot and the Scallop Circle Die. The tags themselves follow the motif I used on all my projects--More Mustard maple leaves with a Soft Suede Accent or a stamped off Soft Suede oak leaf with Soft Suede accents. The two step stamping with Gently Falling couldn't be easier! You can also see  my use of the Early Espresso Quilted Ribbon and the Spike Cake Designer Series paper.

My second project is a set of cards in a card portfolio. You can see it peeking behind the jars, but here is a cover close-up.

I think you can see the two-step stamping in my collage and on the leave accents. I just stamped the bases and then stamped the outlines. Easy. and I love Easy. I will be posting directions (and a picture of the inside) on Monday on my blog for those of you that would want to know how I did this. Here is a picture of the card set inside the folio:
Again, I used a collage to showcase fall leaves. It makes me think of sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee grading papers as the leaves all around me! I cut the collage a little short and added a strip of Spice Cake Designer Series Paper to the left side of the card to balance. I then used the Early Espresso Quilted Ribbon for an accent. I even stamped the envelops to match.

My final project is a super fancy card:

This time, I used the same colors, but added some pizzaz. I stamped in my base colors, but I embossed the lines with the new Pewter Embossing Powder. Oh I am so happy! I also used the new Flurries Embossing Folder to quilt my Designer Paper Strips, which transformed my card from ok to WOW! Again, full details and recipes will be on my blog on Monday if you so desire to know that kind of thing.

I hope you fell in love as much as I did with the products in this mini-catalog! Next up is Adriana at Escape to Stamp featuring the Spice Cake Designer Series Fabric. You can go backwards to Heidi at Running with Scissors Stamper, to see Out on a Limb. If you get lost along the way, go to this link at Stampin' Addicts to find your way!

Enjoy!

  4. Sara, I just love the idea of jar toppers with this suite, but my favorite details is the sentiment (Thankful Thoughts of You) on the Top Note die tucked under the rest of the design. Very clever and eye catching.

  9. Your quilted card is just stunning! I'm glad to know that the new EF is perfect for that quilting effect, as it will further justify the purchase of it -- thanks for enabling me!
