Didn't Make the Cut

I've had two glorious days of stamping, sleeping, cleaning (so I can stamp more) and eating. So much fun. I've been working on swaps. I find that I need a focus so I can curb my creativity, or channel my undiagnosed ADHD. Yet, again, without convention I signed up for some swaps. I love getting ideas in person from folks with a different style from my own. I work hard on mine for perfection and can design for hours before I get what I want. However, sometimes, a design just doesn't scream--swap me! This is one of those:

 Stamps: Lacy and Lovely
Paper: Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango,
Accessories: Big Shot, Delicate Doily Sizzlet, Designer Frames Folder, Blossom Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Itty Bitty Flower Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Itty Bitty Circle Punch, Large Oval Punch, Brights Brads, Daffodil Delight Seam Binding

I found a sketch I liked online with a center image and small top layer. I thought about using the blossom punch on the large circley thing in the set, but after that I was a bit stuck. I layered and layered different punched parts until I got a flower I liked. The Summer Smooches paper worked just right. The Hello needed an accent, but no too much, so I used the frame around it. Then, it needed a white background, so I punched it. Then, an additional flower for balance.

The colors are fun, but not quite right. I found a picture of orange and yellow flowers with a tinge of turquoise, but there was a gray to balance the bright. I couldn't get a Basic Gray to look good in any way, so ended up with this bright thing. That. In the end. Didn't make the Swap Cut.

Happy Stamping!
