The Paper Bow

I almost forgot to post how I made the paper bow on my gift bags for the retreat! Opps! Good thing I have pictures of everything! My inspiration was the back of the Holiday Catalog. I wanted ac ute bow that I could make multiples of and not go crazy. I mixed and matched papers and colors since I was making a bunch of them. Here it is on the bag with tag:

Stamps: Blue Ribbon, Lovely Letters Alphabet
Paper: Polka Dot Parade, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Marina Mist, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Paper Cutter, Paper Snips, 2 1/2" Circle, 2 3/8" Scallop Punch, Ribbon

How to make the bow:
1. Cut a strip of 2" by 12" Designer Series Paper.
2. Fold in half. Then each half into the middle. You want the middle of the whole strip matched to the ends.

2. Along one side, cut a bow shape from the middle folds to the outer edge.
3. To make the cuts symmetrically, take your scraps and set them on the opposite edge to get the same part cut off. When done, it should look like this:

4. When you unfold it, you get this:

If you don't, then your initial fold was wrong. (Ask me how I know)

 5. Now, take the outer ends and fold them over to make a bow--I used sticky dots to stick them. Something stronger might hold longer.

6.  Take a 1" strip by about 3 inches and wrap around the middle.

Ta Dah! You've made it!

Happy Stamping!
