Stampin' Addicts Stamp Jam Blog Bounce

Welcome to Stampin' Addicts 5th Saturday Stamp Jam and Blog Bouncing! The Stamp Jam will officially start at 9am Eastern Time. Each hour a challenge will be posted for you to play along with in the Stamp Jam Thread over on Stampin' Addicts Site. Below is a list of Hostesses who have each picked one of the challenge themes and a link to their blogs. We each have created 2-3 samples for you!!! They all have done such a fantastic job!! Be sure to visit each blog to check out all the wonderful creations when your done head on over and join us on Stampin' Addicts in the March 31 Stamp Jam Thread to play along with us!!!

My theme is---Milestones. When I thought about what I wanted to make, I realized that most milestones are marked with a newspaper. From Birth Announcements, to weddings, to promotions, to retirements, to obituaries we read all about it in the local paper. Newsprint was my base. I've seen great flowers out of old books on pinterest, so I thought, that would be a good start!

Celebrate, what? Whatever event you need to! a birthday, a wedding, an engagement, an anniversary, a retirement--anything!

A card that would work for an invite or a celebratory card. Each tag would work for a different occasion. Make one card--apply it to any situation! The favors are easy, too. I scored a tag into a triangle, added the flowers, a ribbon, and a tag. Candy can come later:)

Finally, I have one more project. I really thought about a retirement here, but don't know anyone retiring right now, so I made it generic. This is a book that can be made with My Digital Studio and then printed in advance. Then, guests at the party, can sign it, add photos, add memories, etc!

Mom's Calender Part 3

The next three months are all about family time. Here' Easter last year:

As you can see Clare is involved in all things her brother's are, including dying eggs at 1 year!

I think I forgot to go back and add to this page--no dates or anything! Opps. Tim's birthday is April 26th and I skipped over it. I hope he knows it was an oversight not a dis!

For May, I went with the Urban garden paper. I love the gray tones.

However, for the calender part, I needed to downplay those stems! I used the opacity function to lower the opacity of the Bashful Blue paper so that the stems could peek through, but not overpower. I like the effect.

And, for June, I used a montage of photos from the Mattson Family Reunion, which we do each summer. Last year we camped out at Lake Wissota State Park near Chippewa Falls.

The Domestic Goddess paper is perfect for this!

My Mom's Calendar 2012--Part 2

February is Clare's birthday, so I was stuck as to whether or not to have her birthday pictures or this one:

You can see what I went with--pink for Valentine's Day. Bubba took that photo on Easter. She was peek-a-booing under the picnic table at him. You can see all the cupcakes on the calender- 4 birthdays in February (2 on one day). Poor Nathan gets neglected due to Clare's cuteness and age.

I put Clare's birthday party in March:

My mom's a seamstress, so I knew I wanted to use this Sew Suite stuff on pages. Clare's 1st birthday party pictures matched it so well that I knew this would work--and it did.

Clare hated her cake. She hated the frosting. She hated having the frosting touch her skin. Even Unka Bubba couldn't convince her cake was a good thing. Later that night, after her fancy dress was removed, her silly self came out. She was much more fun then!

My Mom's My Digital Studio Calender Revealed!

I finally finished my Mom's Christmas present at the end of February. We are finally seeing each other this weekend so I can give it to her, so I can finally show you all!

I made the cover using the Sale-a-bration Content CD that I got for FREE with my first Sale-a-bration order. I stocked up on paper and adhesives to take advantage of the Sale-a-bration freebies. Well worth it!

I called it the Mattson Family Calender as I decided this year to print one for my sister and I so that we could all appreciate the time we spend together--and perhaps, it would spur me to start earlier so Mom gets it at Christmas!

Here is January--

I had a variety of cute pictures of Clare from January through March of last year, but none had similar colors or hues. To solve that problem, I used the color photo feature on My Digital Studio to make them all black and white. You can tell the ones Bubba gave me as the quality is higher, but the black and white helps the rest fit in.

Spring Flowers

I loved the card I saw at leadership that looked similar to this. I added my own flavor since I only had a poorly lit Iphone photo of the original.

Stamps:  Loving Thoughts
Paper: Pear Pizazz, Whisper White, Everyday Enchantment, Calypso Coral, Pool Party
Ink: Pear Pizazz
Accessories: Blossom Punch, Triple Blossom Punch, Button Embosslit, Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Everyday Enchantment Brads and Ribbon Pack, Brights Brads

This was easy and fun card to do at February and March Workshops as folks got to play a bit with their own embellishments. Plus, the whole card took very little time!

Stamps: None

Ink: Soft Suede
Accessories: Triple Blossom Punch, Simply Scored, Polka Dot Pretty in Pink Scalloped Ribbon, Tasteful Trim Bigz XL die, Texturz Plates

I used the same concept as Connie's Valentine's favor, but added a handle, and some texture.

Here is a photo of how I scored it:

Butterflies and Dreams

Sale-a-bration ends March 31st, so I'd better get all I can from my Sale-a-bration sets before then! Here was an easel card we made this month:

Stamps: Fresh Vintage, Loving Thoughts
Paper: Everyday Enchantment, Lucky Limeade, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Ink: Pool Party, Poppy Parade
Accessories: Framelits, Heat Tool, Embossing Tray, Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die, Pool Party Seam Binding, Pearls, Everyday Enchantment Brads and Ribbon.

But, it gets even better:

and the finale--

I love this set, this paper, and the butterflies. We used emboss resist technique with the Scented Embossing Powder. The room smelled like Cherries when we were working! Hopefully, the recipient leaves it on her desk for inspiration!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

and boy, they are celebrating around here! The "Mooseyard" of Shawano which is an area north of the huge Shawano Lake, has a huge parade with local business's (AKA bars) having corned beef and cabbage, and other Irish specials. I knew this celebration existed, but apparently, I haven't been in this house this weekend! There is a party going on just down the block! The 82 degree weather for Wisconsin in March probably is helping the party, I'd bet. Here's a card to celebrate the day:

I saw this card on pinterest from Ann Fitzgerald at Ann's Creative Moments and totally cased it for my Stampin' Celebrations group which makes 12 cards every 1st Wednesday. The stampers prefer covering every holiday--so I had to have a St. Patrick's Day card! The bar was set high as last year's card had recently been identified by one stamper's all time favorite card. The pressure was on and Ann's card was perfect, if a little futsy.

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Old Olive Brights Designer Paper
Ink: Garden Green, Wisteria Wonder, Old Olive
Accessories: Big Shot, Finial Texturz Impressions Embossing Folder, Sponge Daubers, Bird Punch, Pearls, Blender Pen

A Cherry on Top!

What's more springy than red cherries? Well, actually, summery. Late July and Early August are when they ripen around here! However, I still think this card is mighty springy!

Stamps: Mouthwatering, Petite Pairs
Paper: Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Sweet Shop Specialty Designer Paper
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Cherry Cobbler Marker, Old Olive Marker
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details, Baja Breeze 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon, Paper piercing tool, template, and matte pack

I love the sweetness of this card--and I proudly designed the whole thing without casing! I wanted the cherries to sparkle. My sister loves cherry cheesecake and we (my mom) makes her a cherry cheesecake for her birthday in February every year. When I got this set, I knew I had to make this for her birthday Stampin' Up! Workshop. Easy and cute!

Stars in Celebration!

Celebrate!

Stamps: Sprinkled Expressions
Paper: Marina Mist, Whisper White, Piece of Cake Designer Series Paper
Ink: Whisper White, Marina Mist
Accessories: Heat Tool, Cherry Scented Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Small Oval Punch, Daffodil Delight 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Sponge Dauber

I just love the images of this Sale-a-bration Set! So very fun! I stole, I mean cased, this layout from Mary Brown. I loved the tag idea along with the splash of color! So very cute. I changed up the colors to fit my mood and supplies.

The cherry scented powder is so very cherry when you open it and emboss. Over time, you can still smell it on the card, but it's not so overpowering. Whew! I can't have that much smell around. I mean, I wouldn't want my stamp room to smell like the 6th grade hallway when the boys discover cologne. The powder is clear, so when I used

Blown Away!

or at least it feels like it! I'm not sure what happened last week. Other than sleeping a lot, and working a lot, and doing a lot...Sorry faithful readers. I seem to be dropping the ball. However, I am not going to feel too badly about it. I can only accomplish what I can in the time I have.

I do have a great card for you, today, though:

Does that make up for my absence?

Stamps: Loving Thoughts
Paper: Everyday Enchantment, Pool Party, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Hearts Sizzlet, Hearts Framelits

I saw a verison of this card on pinterest by Julie Marshall and  had to CASE (copy and share everything) it! She had buttons in the middle. I added the little hearts as I find them so very cute!

One of the things that kept me busy last week and and weekend was the Milwaukee Regional Event by Stampin' Up!  I met up with my stampin friends from Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and Michigan--oh so much fun! Shelli Gardner was there to MC the event. We had the best time stamping and learning! Oh boy! Such fun! I'd post pictures, but I didn't take them. I had planned to use my iphone and it ran out of battery. Too much facebook, I suppose!

March Monday

I had a pretty good day at my day job. That's saying a lot right now, as the kids are a little challenging this year. Usually, by now, I have them doing what they are supposed to do, working hard, and learning. This particular group hasn't quite come around fully. I've had to do a lot of deep thinking about what I can do to make the difference between success and failure. Luckily, I have stamping to counteract all of this stress! Sometimes, accomplishing a simple project on My Digital Studio is all it takes to make the world a little bit better in my head! Here is March's computer desktop calender:

I wanted to show off the Everyday Enchantment paper one more time. I just love it. I just love it. Did I say that twice? I could say it a thousand times! I needed to use the easy button. I made the decoration using a flag punch, filled it with paper, and added some easy flower accents. Not tricky, but it'll do.

March in like Lion

so I'm acting like lamb. We got a huge snowstorm on Wednesday and then last night more! I think this means I should stay inside stamping all weekend! Don't you? I just hope Bubba agrees. Here's a bit of spring to counteract that winter wonderland I have outside:

Stamps: Mixed Bunch, Petite Pairs
Paper: Brights Designer Series paper Pack, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Blossom Punch, Brights Brads, Scallop Edgelit, Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Oval Punch, Oval Scallop Punch

I made this card way back in January. I needed some fun in my card making and was inspired by a colorful pillow. The card looks nothing like the pillow in the end, but it's still fun.
