Flutterby Thank-you

Today's share is a sunny card:

I am on a kick with these notecards. I just can't make enough of them! This one uses some new products in fun colors.

Stamps: Lacey and Lovely
Paper: Notecards with Envelopes, Rich Razzleberry, Floral District Designer Series Paper, Whisper White
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Big Shot, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Delicate Doilies Sizzlet, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Basic Pearls, Delicate Designs Folders

I first used the Delicate Design Folder on the notecard front. I then added the strip of Floral District Designer Series Paper. Next, the stamped image on the 1 3/4" circle. To decorate the butterfly, I used the largest flower from this set and punched it out the way I wanted it to look. I added pearls for the center. I did the Thank-you last crossing my toes as I did it, hoping, I wouldn't get a smudge and I didn't--until the next one!

Lookie at What We Did!

I've had a whirlwind couple of weeks and want to share a bit with you about the fun part. Well, it's been mostly fun, but the really fun part--stamping with other demonstrators! My fellow stampin' friend Kim at Stitchin n Stampin' on Paper  hosted a demo event for a group of demo friends last Sunday. Four of us attended, perfect to chat with everyone and stamp by everyone! Here are the cards the others designed that we made:

Kim's Blooming with Kindness Card
On her card, she  didn't cover up her saying! Look at that! How funny that I just noticed! We did the grid tile technique and I love how easy it is, yet striking it can be.

Kim's For the Birds Shadowbox Card

I used the nest image and added the words from a different image. How cool is that. We used Stazon ink so that we could color the image with running ink. Cute, huh?

Linda's Daydream Medallions

The center image is from Serene Silhouettes. This was soOOOOOOOO easy! We used the coordinating Floral Frames Framelits to cut out the Medallion images. I love being able to play with things that I don't own yet! Fun, fun, fun.

Notice that I am missing Linda's second card, which is sad because I loved it. However, it jumped out of my bag!

Carla's Graduation Card
Check out that Tassel. Carla gave us a tutorial on her special (and easy) way to make these using only your hands! This looks way complicated, but since she had a template on her grid paper, we could line up our necklines and collars right.

Carla's Wedding Card

Carla also had great tips on this one--from cutting the white heart and placing it onto the black heart to a cute bow technique. She made what seemed a bit challenging, easy.

What a great day of stamping memories!

Buggy in Blues

Although, I claim purple and green are my favorite colors, I make a lot of blue cards and go with a lot of color combinations with blues. Today's share is no expectation.

Stamps:  Bug Me, Itty Bitty Banners
Paper: Island Indigo, Pool Party, Whisper White
Ink: Island Indigo, Pool Party Markers
Accessories: Bitty Banners Framelits, Big Shot, Designer Printed Brads, 1 2/3" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, Chevron Embossing Folder

I love playing with these little bugs. I just marker them up and stamp whatever combination I want. This one came from wanting to stick to a couple of colors and just play a bit. I cut the chevron folder so that I could get a fun background. The rest seems pretty self-explanatory. I just had fun.

Blue Ribbon Blues

Sometimes stamp sets speak as you view them in the new catalog. They say, "Buy me. You'll create awesome projects with me. You need me." Stampers often are too weak to resist. The set I'm featuring today is one such set to me:

I know I can apply this set to so many areas of my life- school, graduations, masculine birthdays, and more. Can anyone say PBR card?  You will.

Stamps: Blue Ribbon
Paper: Marina Mist, Midnight Muse, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Midnight Muse, Real Red Marker
Accessories: 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Little Label Punch Pack, Big Shot, Chevron Embossing Folder, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Rhinestones, Real Red 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon

Want to know how I got those cute corner accents? A new corner punch? Nope! The Little Label Punch Pack. I used the one that looks like the Decorative label like this:

I put the corner of my paper in the center bottom and lined up the edges with the bumps left and right. This got me a cute corner punchout!

Can you notice the bling? I sat looking at my pile of cards (again, I swapped this one), and realized the 1 could have a rhinestone in the center and look even cooler. I did it and I like it!

Lacy and Lovely In Color

You all know that I am a swap-a-holic. For sure. I love sharing and getting ideas from fellow demonstrators. It's one of the reason I am a part of the Stampin' Up! Community I am. My friend Paula at Stampin' Addicts hosted a new catalog swap and this was one of my cards I mailed off this week:

Stamps: Lacy and Lovely
Paper: Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White
Ink: Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit
Accessories: Stamping Pierce Mat, Paper Piercing Tool, Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack, Big Shot, Delicate Designs Folders, Designer Frames Folders, Extra Large Oval Punch, Labels Framelits, In Color Dahlias, Elegant Butterfly Punch

I first created the base by taking a 4" by 5 1/4" piece of Primrose Petals and running it through the Delicate Designs Folders. I then used my Essentials Paper Piercing Pack to add some dots to the scallops on the lace. I then randomly stamped the circle images first in Raspberry Ripple (the large one), then Primrose Petals (the medium), and with Summer Starfruit (the small.). I adhered this to my base. Yet, the card needed more, so I wanted to add the embossed frame. However, I didn't want to cut them all out (10), so I used the Labels Framelit to cut them out. Much easier. I then had to figure out the sentiment. It was too  boring with just the words, so I added a Primrose Petal flower. However, it was too dark, so I stamped off--which meant I stamped on scrap paper and then on my cardstock. I then used my Essentials Paper Piercing Pack to add more dots on the oval. Repeating my design is a way to make a card come together.

When done, I put on dimensionals and had my card done. (Notice, I cut them in half so I can save money)

Have you ever wondered how I decide what to put on a card. Like really, when is much, too much? My husband says I add too much. But sometimes, it just feels right. On this card, I just kept building and I liked it more and more. Here's the progression:

New Catalog 2012 Blog Hop Recap

Whew! That was an amazing blog hop, right? Hol--yyyy Cow! Is your wish list longer? Mine is!

Today, I'm going to share my projects again, with links, and tips. First up, the Raspberry Ripple Wiper Card:

I used JanTink's tutorial, which you can find on her blog, Stamps, Paper, Ink.  I found the description of how to attach the wiper part hard, but then I realized, I missed the second page in my printer. It was easy to do with the Simply Scored and the Diagonal Scoring Plate. Do you see the new In Colors? I used Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, and Raspberry Ripple. I added Baja Breeze for some blue. The grass is actually one of the wing stamps stamped off the paper. To get the bow to tie right and to get it to stay on my card, I used the flower from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to punch holes through the layer and then tied around it. You can kind of see one peeking out under the bottom bow. I also used the Chevron Embossing Folder to add a little corner of Gumball Green, grass-style.

Next Up: Midnight Muse Tunnel Card

I used the basic directions from Splitcoaststampers, but added a few details. First of all, I cut my inside Marina Mist layer 1/4" shorter in both length and width so that the Midnight Muse edges could poke through. I also used our Labels Collection Framelits in a duo layer for my window. I stamped the scene thinking as a young kid might--peeking in at all the bugs. I wanted to add a magnifiying glass of some sort, but then thought it might be over the top. If you look in the first frame, I added a cute little walking bug up the side. You can't tell, but I did use our new Paper Piercing Templates to add some dotted tracking lines.

The front could get overlooked so here it is again:

I added the Happy Birthday Sentiment using the the new set Itty Bitty Banners and the Itty Bitty Banners framelits. It has never been so easy to add cute sentiments! Love it! I used the Chevron Embossing Folder and Gumball Green since I love the color combination of Gumball Green, Marina Mist, and Midnight Muse. I also used the framelits to cut the window to see the bugs. I was trying to hint at what would be inside. To do this, I cut the big one first, then placed the Midnight Muse below it and then cut the smaller window. I hope that makes sense.

Now, the show stopper:
I've seen these flowers on pinterest and knew I wanted to try them. The new Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper seemed perfect! I used the tutorial on Folding Trees to make these Kusadama flowers. You use 3x3 squares of paper to make each petal, then sticky strip them together. Well, the tutorial writer said glue, but I used sticky strip. Nothing came apart yet. Can you see the leaves? I used the Blossom Petals Builder Punch, folded them in half, and then ran them through the Chevron Embossing Folder, so I could have a bit of texture inside. I used mini-glue dots to stick them on the  bamboo skewers that are stuck in the sand in my pail.
This is a view that lets you see the bugs poking out. I just played with my ink and stamps and then added them here or there, wherever it felt right. I also added the Marina Mist Polka Dot Scallop Ribbon around my pail for an accent.

I think that covers it, feel free to add any questions as comments!

Happy Father's Day, Dad!

Ok. I'm posting this a day late since my sister is actually sending this card to our dad since we made it at an event at her house. She's my favorite hostess, so I suppose I better let her give him this card and make my own!

My dad is the King of the Weber Grill--turkey's, chicken, burgers, brats. I grew up well-fed.

To make this card, I used the samples I've seen out and about. Stampers share all great ideas, so I can't tell you the first person who came up with it! But all are fun!

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Real Red Designer Series Paper from Brights pack, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Bashful Blue, Basic Black, Basic Gray, Vellum.
Ink: Stazon Jet Black
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch (cut in half for grill), word window (for legs), 1/2" Circle Punch, Itty Bitty Circle Punch, Silver Brad, Big Shot, Bitty Banners Framelits

This was a fun card to design and make. Ignore the smudges on my photo. I dropped it and ran it over with my desk chair before I found it. Opps.

Bug Me!

Whoo Hoo! It's the Stampin' Addicts New Catalog Blog Hop! The New Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog is here and I'm tellin' ya--it's loaded with new goodies you just need to check out. Just make sure you have a snack, a notepad, and something yummy to drink as you visit each of the 13 stops on this hop. The way it works is that a group of my demonstrator friends drooled our way through the catalog and then picked our favorite new set to feature on our blogs this weekend.  If you are just starting, I'm featuring Bug Me, a cute new stamp set on page 66.  After viewing my projects, just click next blog and you'll be started on your journey.

Bug Me caught my eye right away as I leafed through the catalog as I knew it was a set I could play with. My creativity started rolling and hasn't stopped. I've saved my best three projects here for you.

Here's a close-up of the Primrose Petal cardfront, along with the treat the recipient gets to see when opened!

My Midnight Muse and Gumball Green Card has a fun inside, too. Here are three views of the inside. The recipient gets to peek and seek all the bugs:

Finally, the project that started out as a simple idea, and turned into a day long affair:

But totally worth it!

BOLO and TIP

I must still be channeling my middle school students' texting habits! BOLO stands for Be On The Lookout. For what? Friday my blog is featured in a Stampin' Addicts Blog Hop featuring products from the new Annual Idea Book and Catalog from Stampin' Up! Stop by my Blog on Friday, June 15 til Sunday, June 17th to see my very awesome projects and then HOP to the next blog in a big o' blog circle! How very cool. You won't want to miss it!
Here's a sneak peek:

and, finally, a tip for today. I was told  by a friend, when she saw me do this that I ought to blog it. So, here it is.

WHEN, and that's a WHEN not an IF, you get your new stamps, a great way to keep them together in the  clear mount cases. I keep the rubber and use it as a frame to hold my stamps.

To keep that frame in place, I peel off the white layer to reveal the cling, which sticks to the inside of my case. I always know what stamps are missing and I don't lose them when I open the case!
