My Style Birthday

After that pink card, I needed something more, ME!

Stamps: Bloomin' Marvelous
Paper: Sycamore Street, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Summer Starfruit
Ink: Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Big Shot, Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack, Edgelits

I found this sketch online, but forgot where. Sorry. I loved the use of many types of paper together. Overall, it makes a striking card!

Perfect Birthday Card

Whew! Birthdaypalooza is over! February is a big birthday month--my dad, my nephew, my sister, and my niece. Every year, my sister books a Sale-a-bration workshop so we can stamp on her birthday. To thank her, I design a pink card.

Stamps: Vintage Verses
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, Sahara Sand, Tea for Two Designer Series Paper
Ink: Whisper White Craft Ink, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Big Shot, Labels Collection Framelits, Doilies, Delicate Designs Embossing Folders, Two Tone Ribbon, Faceted Buttons, Silver Basics Designer Buttons

I used a joy fold on this card--which means I scored at 5 1/2 and 2 3/4.

We also used the popular chalkboard technique--just use Whisper White Craft Ink on Basic Black cardstock. I add a little chalkyness by sponging some extra ink on it.

Happy Birthday, Nathan!

I was trying to be cool for my nephew's 15th birthday:

Stamps: It's Your Birthday, Feeling Sentimental
Paper: Pacific Point, Basic Gray, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Pacific Point, Basic Black
Accessories: Big Shot, Chevron Embossing Folder, Aquapainter, Modern Label Punch

I went with the whole Dr. Who Tardis thing. Funny. He didn't even notice!

My main tactic on this card was to use a watercoloring technique called Blurred Watercolor. I used my aquapainter to smear the ink from the inked image, so that the color blurred over. I used it in the same manner on the hand and sign.

Valentines for the Staff

Check out what the staff at my school found in their mailboxes yesterday:

Here's a close up:

Stamps: That's the Ticket, Hearts a Flutter
Paper: Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red
Accessories: Flower Punch, Ticket Punch, Pearls

I found the idea on pinterest. When I clicked to the link, it was in Dutch or German, I think. Here is the original project.

I wanted bigger candy than nuggets, so I got the Hershey's assortment of hearts. I had to adjust my measurement to fit:
Here's how to get the heart tops:

Pretty, cool, huh?

More Amore

I love this card for it's use of the Hearts a Flutter and the More Amore Specialty Paper.

Stamps: Hearts a Flutter, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Primrose Petals, Pool Party, More Amore Designer Series Paper, Very Vanilla
Ink: Primrose Petals
Accessories: Hearts a Flutter Framelits, 1" Square Punch, Big Shot, Natural 7/16" Trim Ribbon

For the banners, I cut 1" strips and then used my 1" square punch to get the cut out.  I found that if I adhered these to the Pool Party topper, then it was wayyyyyyy easier to get everything lined up and the ribbon around it.

That ribbon is my favorite in the Spring Catalog. It's so me!

Minnie Mouse Invites!

Clare is turning 3 in two weeks. She's been wanting a fun party and loves her Minnie Mouse dress from Halloween. So-- Minnie Mouse is the theme again!

When she got to see the invites, she told me, in the most dramatic three-year-old way, "I love it, Auntie. I just love it. You did this for me!"

Stamps: Best of Birthdays
Paper: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: 2 1/2" Circle Punch, 1 3/4 Circle Punch, Large Heart Punch, Petite Label Punch, Basic Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

I used My Digital Studio to make the insides. I love that you can use any font on your computer:

I just made one the size I wanted, selected all, and copied and pasted. The yellow is from the File It Fun suite.

All she wants right now is a balloon, but I'm sure she'll get more!

How to Make Your Own Facebook Cover

Whoo Hoo! I crossed something off my to do list last night. I created a facebook cover for my timeline!

I used My Digital Studio 2's new feature of custom size. I chose NEW PROJECT > Custom Size, and then chose my size of 351 height and 851 width.

Next, I added three photo boxes. Well, one and the copied it. I used the alignment tool to align them by their tops and space them even horizontally. I found pictures I liked and added them.

I used the Lemonade Stand Digital Kit that I got free with my Sale-a-bration order. I love these colors! I used two banners, which I had to decrease in size. I then added the stamps in the upper left and the embellished image that says, you + me. Next time, I'll move this kind of thing over so it's not covered up by my profile pic!

Finally, I exported my file as a JPEG and then uploaded to Facebook. Easy and done in less than an hour.

Happy Stamping!
