Be the Star That You Are!

As a middle school teacher, I get to see kids who are working through their identity. The sentiment on this card is why I bought the set:

Stamps: Be the Star, Chalk Lines
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Hello Honey, Whisper White, Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry
Accessories: Stars Framelits, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Dimensionals, Rhinestones, Brights Candy Dots

I am also entering this card in the As You See It Challenge #042.

Check out the inspirational designs on the As You See It Blog!

I have so much to say about this card. One, I loved the sketch. The As You See It Design Team took me out of my safety zone with this one! I like symmetry and this needed to be asymmetrical to look right. Also, I realized that I needed be playful with my layers and placement!

At first I had many more colors in mind and slowly, ended up with the color duo of Hello Honey and Crushed Curry and the contrasting Bermuda Bay.

I used my framelits and punches very carefully to get the elements I wanted to spread around my card. I used the multiple star stamp and the Itty Bitty Accent Star punch to get the solid stars with the white edge. I also used the Itty Bitty Accent Star punch in the center of the Double Star Stamp to make a frame. The outer edge of those stars were cut with the small Star Framelit. I also punched the center of the small lined star with the Itty Bitty Accent Star Punch for another fun add-on.

In other fabulous news, I earned Top Pick for Challenge #041 for my Project Life Page featuring my niece Clare. Thanks, AYSI Design Team!

Happy Stamping!
