A Spring Sheltering Tree

I love trees. I love just staring at how they are constructed. I love laying down and just watching. I keep my windows shut in my classroom because I'm the biggest tree watcher of them all.  Here is one we made for my sister's February Workshop--a pink card just for her:

This stamp set basically stamps itself. All you need is ink. Really. The only limitation is how many blocks you have available and how often you need to switch out the stamps!

I used a technique I learned from an upline meeting with the great Mary Polcin. We stamped and then used rulers to mark the width of the card and trimmed around. I used my paper cutter to cut up to the part of the tree that overlapped, skipped the part I wanted to keep, and then cut again to the top. My white part is 2 3/4 inches wide and the pink underlayer was 3 inches long.

A Happy Birthday Pocket Card...

Birthdays are meant to celebrated and this card brings a celebration!

And the inside:

Pocket cards are so fun! This one is super-fun. I used the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit die to create the pocket, but first, I used the Polka Dots Embossing Folder to add texture to the front. I just folded the the back around the folder, so it didn't get embossed and it fit in the width of my Big Shot.

I used the Balloon Framelits Dies to cut out the banner, the small bow, and the balloon. I love that way better than fussy cutting the shapes! I used the Celebrate Today Photopolymer set for the images. The larger bow was  created with the Bow Punch.
