I went with a simple design as I wanted them to be just like we are...simple. Isn't it amazing that the year I need invites, Stampin' Up! comes up with the perfect stamp AND gives it to me at Convention for FREE (minus convention fee). AWESOME! When I found this stamp in my Convention bag, I told Bubba, "I got our wedding stuff stamp!" and was quite giddy. His response, "Cool." He was hoping for a Raiders stamp.
I used non-Stampin' Up! envelopes (GASP), because I bought them at a paper sale...and it's all I bought. I wanted to make sure I could go bigger with my cards if needed. In the end, I made regular sized cards, kind of. There were actually three sizes, a little bigger, a little smaller, and regular, due to paper shortages.
To create the front, I used Basic Gray for the grass. I then used the Chalkboard technique for the flowers. That is, stamp in dark paper with white craft ink. I used sponge daubers to add pastels for color and Voila'! I'm done!
Inside is a one-page party description matted on silver (for Bubba). Of course, I ran out of silver and had to switch to black on some. Opps. But it still looks great.
These are who I am and what I wanted, so I hope those who get them love them.
Just beautiful! I love this set, seriously it's just gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteVery elegant. Wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the Basic gray color AND I MUST get some white craft ink. I have the white Staz-On but your card has convinced me that the craft ink is the way to go. Perfect card for the occasion IMO!
ReplyDeleteI think they're beautiful invites, Sara!!
