Family Fun for the Ronald McDonald House!

Where else can you go to stay when your child is ill or injured and in a far-away hospital? No where. The Ronald McDonald House in Marshfield can serve up to ten families at one time. I was deeply touched by the serenity and generosity of the Ronald McDonald House and am grateful that I am in a position, as Lead Demonstrator for the Ronald McDonald House in Marshfield, to give back. Marshfield is my hometown and as Girl Scout, I helped them fulfill the needs of their wishlist. Funny how life goes full circle!

Anyhoo.... Each month, I will tell you about the donation drive and the projects brought to the house. Last month, my trunk was full of food drive items! I had 5 boxes, and two bags of stuff. My Yaris's trunk usually looks big, but this time, it was full!

January brings forced indoor retreats. On the wishlist was Family-friendly DVD's, so this month's mission is to get as many DVD's as possible! Donations can be sent to me personally, leave a comment and I'll email you my address, or to me via paypal at my email All money will be receipted and used to purchase DVDS! This month's donation deadline is January 25th.

I cannot tell you about the projects for this month. How fair would that be? But I do have pictures of the projects I made last month....journals.

When I was at the RMH in Milwaukee, we were always in need of paper. So often, we wanted to document something... progress, retreat, who called, who came, fun memories, but we ran out of paper. An envelope served as an address book! I had a stash of hardcover notebooks and used them to create 12 journals. Half used Baja Breeze paper and half used the Outlaw Simply Scrappin' Kit. Both retired last summer, but are dear to my heart.

I hope that in your own stamping, you can find a way to give back!

Happy Stamping!

  1. very nice collections! Looking at the entire lot in picture is very impressive! I also get sad when paper retires so quickly, but then I get happy with the new paper and move on..... for 6 months....

  2. WOW! These journals are FANTASTIC and so beautiful... love the little details you added on them. Kudos to you for your dedication to this very worthy organization... I donate to local charities... very rewarding, indeed!

  3. Sara, sounds like your doing a great work for your local Ronald McDonald house. I only wish there was one closer to me where I could help. Love the journals that you made for the families and children. If you have a list of things that would help out in any way please let me know. I can maybe send a couple of DVD's any suggestions?

  4. WOW! What awesome notebooks. I loved the outlaw paper too...Wish I would have gotten more of it. I need to buy some hardcover notebooks on the cheap make me want to alter! :-)

  5. These notebooks came out great. I am sure that they will definately be loved. It sure sounds like the people at your "house" will definately be blessed.

  6. We, thru my DD's Brownie Troop have opened up a new Ronald McDonald house around here. Her troop stocked the rooms with sheets, garbage cans and whatever else a family needed to stay comfortable. They "sponsor" one of the rooms there. I hope to help out at a RMH as a SU! demo one day- it IS such a great charity/organization. I love your journals especially the "Outlaw" ones. Great way to use retired DSP which I am all about these days, I refuse to buy even the new paper coming out in the new cattie until I can figure out what to do with my old stuff!

  7. I really like how your note books turned out. Someday I would like to help out at RMH. The closest one is almost 2 hours away. Maybe when I don't have to homeschool the kiddos I can find time!

  8. Sara:These journals are really nice and I am sure whoever received them loved them.

    Thanks for sharing
