A Party Hearty Rockin'-ability Mojo Card!

That's a mouthful! This is the last day of May (and the paper special), so I had to post this card from this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 88:

Stamps: Party Hearty
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Rockability Designer Series Paper
Ink: Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Circle Scissors Plus, Build a Brad, 3/4 inch circle punch, Old Olive Brads, Dimensionals, 1/4 Basic Black Grosgrain Ribbon

I love the sketch:

It was fun to play with and a great way to add a matte to a focal point without a perfectly sized layer! This paper is my favorite. (I ignore the princess crowns and skulls go for the cherries).

I added one layer of dimensionals for the striped pieces and two layers for the circle to make it pop up! I plan on mailing these, so will have to add extra postage. Bummer on the cost, but I hope those that receive them will think it's worth it!

Happy Stamping!

Decorate in Style!

Are you tired of baby stuff yet? I hope not. I have an adorable project to show you today.

I used some candle holders I bought at Ikea. Boy, is that store addicting! I figured that they would 1) look cute, 2) be easy to alter, and 3) could be used for just baby blocks!  The Decor Elements were super simple to adhere. I just cut out the part I wanted from the Nursery Necessities Wall Border, rubbed the vinyl to transfer to the sticky paper, pulled off the grid paper, placed my element, and rubbed it on! So easy!

I just added Pink Pirouette Striped Ribbon to the one with the elephant. For the boy one, I added elements and paper from the Rock-a-bye Simply Scrappin' Kit and a Bashful Blue striped ribbon. Here's a picture of the side:

I also added some decor elements to a write on board and added some paper and embellishments from the Simply Scrappin' Kit! How cool is that!

Happy Decorating!

Times Flies When UR Having Fun!

Really, I am still around. I just have been busy, busy, busy. This time of year always does this to me. The weather is nicer, so I spend more time outdoors. I get a nesting instinct so clean more. I feel a need to see my family and friends. Plus, the school year is ending and I need my every ounce of energy to deal with middle schoolers who are less than motivated this time of year. Enough excuses. More projects!

My friend and fellow demonstrator Connie came up with this design using the Matchbox Bigz die and the Big Shot. This design makes a perfect wedding favor. A few modifications and it will make a great favor for any occassion!

Stamps: Only Ovals
Paper: Certainly Celery Designer Series Patterns, Whisper White, Certainly Celery Cardstock
Ink: Certainly Celery
Accessories: Big Shot, Matchbox Bigz XL Die, Window Sheet, 1/4 Grosgrain Whisper White, 5/8 Regal Rose Grosgrain Ribbon.

A tip I learned: When adhering the matchbox top to the paper, use a bone folder to squish the mini glue dot. The adhesive dissapears (well, almost).

Rock-a-bye Scrapbooking!

I have gotten back into scrapbooking lately...just not my own stuff. Here are two layouts I created for the Baby Shower Event!

Stamps: None
Paper: Rock-a-bye Boy Simply Scrappin' Kit
Ink: none
Accessories: 12" Paper Cutter

I love the colors for this kit! A little bit contempory--with a bit of traditional within.

I created these pages within an hour--the kit makes it so easy!

The Kind of Card We All Dislike Having to Make..

A sympathy card. A coworker's mother-in-law passed away this week and I needed a great card. My friend has participated in my stamping events, so I knew a handmade card would be appreciated. The problem with making this kind of card is knowing where to start and how to handle the layout, message, and colors. Lucky for me, the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge this week offered a perfect layout:

The colors and message came from the stamp set and what I love to see trees stamped in!I needed to change the square image to an oval due to the size and shape of  my sentiment, but I'm pretty proud of my take on the sketch:

Stamps: Thoughts and Prayers
Paper: Rockability Designer Series Paper, Baja Breeze, Close to Cocoa, and Kiwi Kiss
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Circle Scissors, Glass Mat, Latte Buttons, Oval Scallop Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Punch, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals

I first stamped the images and then cropped them. I used my Circle Scissors to cut the circles. IT WAS SO EASY! I love that I could make the circles any size I wanted--2 1/2 and 2 3/8 just with a turn of a dial. Hint: To make reading the scale easier, I added a piece of Whisper White Cardstock behind the numbers. I got this tip from Mary Fish, whom you can check out at her blog here

Another cool aspect of this card is the Designer Series Paper. I used Rockability! Can you believe it? It's the one with princess crowns, skulls, cherries, and yes, this delightful dotted pattern. Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Paper is so versatile! Plus, it's on sale this month (buy 3 get the fourth free). You have one more day to qualify an order for my Birthday special.

. Email me at with an order of $25 or more and get FREE SHIPPING! My treat!

2. Place an online order of $25 or more using my Stampin' Up! website and I will send you a set of 10 handmade cards!

Thinking of a Mojo Summer

My body and mind are about three weeks ahead of the actual calendar. I have three weeks left of school (16 days, but who's counting), but it feels like June already. The weather is FABULOUS today and I spent some time outside in the sun. Too bad tomorrow I have to get back on track with polynomials and proportions to middle schoolers who are also 3 weeks ahead in their dreams.

Finally, I had the inspiration I needed to complete this week's Mojo Monday Sketch. Notice it says Monday and I am posting on Sunday, just in time! My Mojo was missing, so I needed some inspiration. Enough blabbering--here it is:

Stamps: Life's a Breeze
Paper: Flamingo Designer Series Paper, Brilliant Blue, Only Orange, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Ink: Brilliant Blue, Only Orange, Tempting Turquoise ( I used markers)
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Dimensionals

I wanted to add  more accessories to this one, but stayed true to the Mojo Monday 86 sketch:

Visit the Mojo Monday blog to see other submissions.

I tried to make it a card for any occasion, but with the motive of cheering someone up.

Thanks for all the birthday well wishes. I did have a great day. My fabulous husband Bubba treated me well-lunch at  my favorite place, a movie with my nephews and sister, and a quiet time at home. Perfect day.

Happy Stamping!

Diva-licious Flamingo Butterfly

Where did the week go? I even had 2 days off and still feel behind! Luckily, I did get some stamping time in on Wednesday, so I have a Diva Coffee Break Challenge Card to show off.

Ink: Basic Gray
Accessories: Scallop Border Punch, Butterflies Bigz Die, Big Shot, Paper Piercing Tool, Matte, and Template, Fresh Favorites Buttons

When I saw the sketch, I knew the butterfly had to be from my Big Shot Die! I love these butterflies!

Sweet One for a Sweet New Baby

Again, I am not pregnant. Today is Wisconsin's Biggest Baby Shower from 1-7 at the Building for Kids in Appleton. I have been prepping for months...thinking up fabulous baby ideas.  Here's my latest:

I love this flower. I created it using the Big Shot and my clear flower die. How fun!

Ink: Certainly Celery
Accessories: Big Shot, Stampin' Up! Backgrounds Texturz, Silicone Pad, Matchbox XL Bigz Die, Clear Flower Die, Filigree Designer Brads, Flower Designer Brads, Vintage Brads

Rainbow Sherbet Summery Card with Mojo

Maybe it's the nice weather or maybe it's the fact that middle schoolers in May ask every day when summer vacation starts, but I needed a card to remind me the that summer is around the corner.

Stamps: Eastern Elegance
Paper: Rainbow Sherbet Designer Series Paper, Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White
Ink: Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: Bojo Blossoms Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Fresh Favorites Buttons, Organza Ribbon

I usually hate Apricot Appeal. Some colors just don't appeal to all people, but this paper and some great sample cards I've seen recently, have changed me a bit. So, I branched out and actually used this color. I like the way it brightens  the card up a bit.

The card sketch is from the Mojo Monday Design Challenge 85

Cool, huh?

The card sketch screams using Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Paper, which is so easy use! Pick out a pack and you have a color combination, and many opportunities for creativity! This month all Designer paper is on sale-buy 3 get the fourth free. How cool is that?

Happy Stamping!

Best Purple!

I think I've said it before, but I'm not a pink girl. That's my sister. I hate pink, athough, I can handle it the more I stamp! When I wanted to make just one more Spring card for my Spring Fling Stamp Camp, I had a hard time thinking up an idea that wasn't pink. Pink and Spring go hand in hand, so I was surrounded! But, I had pink on one card, which you have already seen, and I needed a different color combination. What to do? Surf the galleries of Splitcoast for an idea. I CASED this card, but changed it a bit!

A great color combination: Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, and Sage Shadow, with a bit of Sahara Sand thrown in!

Stamps: Best Wishes
Paper: Slumber Party Designer Series Paper, Sage Shadow, Whisper White
Ink: Pale Plum, Versamark, Perfect Plum, Sage Shadow
Accessories: Corner Rounder Punch, Paper Snips, Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals

The hardest part on this card is the cutting out of the flowers.

Easy Peasy DIva Challenge!

I love a challenge that just comes together. The Diva Coffee Break Design Challenge had my name on it this week. I had three ideas going for this one and then noticed the perfect addition- a rub-on from the Occasions Mini-Catalog. I created the card around that rub-on!

Stamps: None!
Paper: A Walk in the Park, Rockability Specialty Paper, Whisper White
Ink: None!
Accessories: Square Scallop Punch, Lace Border Punch, Rub-ons

Easy! I simply cut my paper, used the lace border punch, added the gray layer, rubbed my image on Whisper White, punched it, and adhered it.

Here's the sketch idea:

This would make a great card in a set of cards! So easy and fun!

Mojo Mother's Day

I love my mom. She's always supportive. She's caring. She's helpful. She's generous. She laughs with me. She's amazing. When she says something, I often listen and in March, she mentioned, offhandedly, that I make a lot of cards I never send! So, for mother's day, I worked up a card. OK, I designed it this morning and gave  it to her. She gushed as a mom should. She's that great.

Note: I really am not proud of this picture. I took it and never checked it before giving the card away. So this is as good as it gets!

Stamps: Thoughts and Prayers, Best Wishes and More
Paper: So Saffron, A Walk in the Park, Kiwi Kiss, Very Vanilla
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Almost Amethyst, Basic Gray
Accessories: 1 3/8 Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Latte Buttons, Blender pen

The sketch idea is a fabulous one from Mojo Monday 84.

I did last week's as a scrapbook page, but didn't upload in time, so tonight, I am getting it just under the wire!

To color the image, I used a masking technique with the blender pen. I inked my stamp in Kiwi Kiss and "erased" the flower parts with a blender pen. I then inked the flowers with an Almost Amethyst marker. I think Kiwi Kiss was left on the stamp, so it changed the color a bit, but I like it.

The sentiment is from Best Wishes and More. I inked up the first half stamped, washed it, and then inked up the second part.

Happy Stamping!
