Is your wish list as long as mine? If you want to recreate my projects here's the 411. What I forgot to mention over the weekend is that I saw the surfboard card as an invite to a party, the centerpiece, the decorations, the gel fishty card a thank-you note, and the view finder a card for the host. A whole ensemble all together.
Centerpiece and Coordinating Card:
Stamps: Summer Splash
Paper: Brights Designer Series Paper Pack, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: Fancy Favor Box, Island Florals Bigz Die, Big Shot, Clear Buttons, Baker's Twine, Melon Mambo Emossing Powder, Wild Wasabi Embossing Powder, Window Sheet, 1 3/4 Circle Punch, 2 1/2" Circle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, 3/8" Circle Punch, Itty Bitty Clear Buttons, Heat Tool
The 411: I layered circles under the bitty buttons to make them stand out. I adhered my blue strip onto my Melon Mambo favor bag before I completed the bag, so the folds would look right. I also covered up the sticks in the back with a circle punched piece to match the rest. To do the embossing, I stamped in Versamark and then used my small powder pal to douse the side I wanted Wild Wasabi. I shook this off carefully. I then added the Melon Mambo over my large powder pal and shook that off. It worked like a charm with very little mixing!
Fishy Card:
I love a good gel card. I used hand soap this time from the dollar store inside a little bitty plastic bag that I sealed shut and then sealed shut again with sticky strip. I then figured out how big of a matte I needed to cover the baggy up. I used a series of 4 dimensionals to pop up that layer, so it looks good.
Stamps: Summer Splash, Fishy Wheel
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point, Whisper White
Ink: Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango
Accessories:1 3/4 Circle Punch, 2 1/2" Circle Punch, Brights Brads, Paper piercing tool, gel, baggie
Fishy Card #2:
I was challenged to create a card using only the fishy wheel for a swap and immedately thought of the fishy's swimming in this kind of card. Little did I know that the fish would swim sideways at times! Opps! I still love it. I used the Tasteful Trims Die to make my floor and seaweed.
