I know, PINK, right? I dealt with the light pink by adding the other great colors in this paper- Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo.
This tray started out like this:
I found it at a Rummage or Thrift Store a while back. Moving and shedding most of my collectionables made me realize what I really wanted to play with and this I kept once I saw the doily paper. I had this design in my mind for a while, but had to make hostess appreciation invites first so I knew what I had left to play with!
The trickiest part of this was that the original cross stitch had a thicker background piece and I added my paper right to the back tray. Opps. I then had a gap. See those little pearls in the four corners? I added them for spacers or shims. Perfection!
Oh yeah, check this out. Clare loved my tray and it matched her outfit:
Her face isn't smiling, I know. Somehow, whenever Grandma put the camera up, she quit smiling!
Happy Stamping!
What a fabulous idea! Love the tray!
ReplyDeleteLove this! (And what a little cutie Clare is!)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea and I love the background you created. So pretty! TFS
ReplyDeleteA great way to showcase the paper and a reminder to think outside the box (or tray) for ideas.
