People Call Me a Witch...

It's almost that witchy time of year--and, no, not back to school--HALLOWEEN! I used this week's As You See It Challenge to design this card:

There are so many cute images and sayings in this set, that I had a hard time choosing what to do! The sketch and my limited supplies on retreat sure helped!

Stamps: Tee-Hee-Hee
Paper: Tangelo Twist, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black
Ink: Basic Black, Tangelo Twist
Accessories: Confetti Stars Punch

If the picture isn't clear enough, the saying is :"People call me a it's a BAD thing."

Here is the sketched I based my card design on:

In other fabulous news, my Feather Card was selected as the Featured Artist in last week's challenge!

A Flower Pot of Goodies!

I am in a happy place this weekend--The Over the River and Through the Woods Retreat Center in Lakewood, WI, with all my stampy and scrappy friends. Lots of laughter and a lot of papercrafting going on! I always try to spoil my attendees with a pillow gift. This time, I made it a table gift:

Check out those goodies! I decorated the tin pail with a paper bow. Inside, is a jar of chocolate covered fruit, a cello bag with lotion or shower gel and a loofah, a lollipop, a pencil with topper, and a seed packet. Of course, it all had to be flowery and fun!

Today, I'm going to share the bows. I love the Gift Bow Die! I whipped these cute bows up in no time. I used a 6 x 9 piece of Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper. Super cute colors-- the BRIGHTS! My favorites!

I usually use about 8 glue dots per bow to put them together, but this time, I realized I had a secret trick I could use-- a new product available in the Holiday Catalog that starts next Friday!

One staple and I was done!

Popsicle Color Sneak Peek

This week's As You See It Challenge is YUMMY:

I just want to eat them and I don't even like pink. However, I was superexcited to try this color combo out:

Stamps: Four Feathers, For All Things
Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Very Vanilla
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Strawberry Slush, Basic Black
Accessories: Feathers Framelits, Note Tag Punch, Jute Twine, Handheld 1/4" Circle Punch, In Color Sequin Assortments, Cotton Twill Ribbon

I created the background paper from an idea from a retro fabric and then added the rest.

If you are wondering why you haven't seen this stamp set before, it's because you can find it in the Holiday Catalog, which starts August 28th. Pretty cool stuff in this one!

My students are going to love this card, so I need to find a Happy Birthday that fits my punch!

Butterfly Nugget Favors and More

Also at the Stampin' Day Away, I made a Butterfly Nugget Favor so we all had some chocolate and we all had something for our bags right away!

I saw QBee's Quest Hershey Kiss Butterfies and planned to follow her amazing tutorial. Then, I sent my husband to get Nuggets. not Kisses. Opps. I then needed to figure out a different way. I found a picture that looked right on Pinterest, at the blog Kreativersum.  It turns out, she used a German candy that was a different size than our American nuggets and she used centimeter measurements. I followed her basic concept and found my own measurements.

Stamps: None
Paper: 2013-2105 In Color Paper Stack
Ink: None
Accessories: Stampin' Score Board, paper snips, skewer

For each butterfly you need 2 strips of DSP that are 1" by 9 inches. My measurements were: 1/2", 3 1/2",  and 6 1/2".

These are very easy and were well liked by the group.

I just also have to show you how my mom used punches to label our food on her sandwich bar for lunch:

Pom Pom Bags Tutorial

I recently held the Stampin' Day Away that I donated to St. Thomas More's International Night. My mom bought it, so I got to stamp near my hometown with a great group of stampy folks! I wanted to give them awesome gifts for attending as well as a bag to hold their projects:

A close up of the bag:

As they arrived, each stamper picked out a bag and I added their name to a tag. As you can see by the top picture, each bag was a little different, but had the same theme. I used banners simply on the kraft bags. The pompom is made of paper and glued to a jumbo paperclip, so it can be removed and used somewhere else. It would be a fun bookmark. I think I'll use the extras to sort papers to grade!

Stamps: None
Paper: 2013-2014 In Color Paper Stack, Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantelope, Pistachio Pudding
Ink: none
Accessories: Sticky Strip, White Organza Ribbon, Paper Snips, Chalk Talk Framelits, Little Letters Framelits, In Color Sequin Assortment, Fringe Scissors

Want to make your own pom poms? Well, it's your lucky day.

First, I used a 4" by 12" piece of Designer Series Paper and folded it in half. I adhered the layers together with a strip of sticky strip.

Second, I added another sticky strip on the outside layer, but DIDN'T TAKE OFF THE RED STUFF YET.

Third, I used my Fringe Scissors to cut up to the tape line.

Fourth, I used a bamboo skewer to "open" the loops. I found that if I slid it down by the tape, I could separate more at a time with ease. My picture shows me trying to separate each one at the top of the loop and that was time consuming.

Fifth, Squished the loops so they had some loopyness to them.

Sixth, I pulled the RED STUFF off of the sticky strip.

Seventh, I rolled the bottom of the around the skewer, sticking it the sticky strip to the paper.

Eighth, I stuffed the roll of the pompom in the loop of the jumbo paperclip. I then put a line of Crystal Effects around the curve to adhere the pompom to the clip.

Ninth, I added a little 1/2" by 2" ish paper strip over the top of the clip to cover up the glue. Very cute.

and TENTH, I tied on a little piece of White Organza Ribbon and then I used the paper clip to hook the pompom on the bag!

For the rest of the bag, I used Fast Fuse and banners I cut out of assorted paper pieces. I also added a little banner of the white organza ribbon (which is hidden in this picture).

Happy Creating!

Big News, Baby!

No. Not me. But I did need to make a baby card so decided I would get my inspiration from this week's As You See It Challenge. I'm not sure how well I did, but here ya go:

Stamps: Big News, Peachy Keen
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla, Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper
Ink: Stazon Black, Tangelo Twist, Pink Pirouette Marker
Accessories: On Film Framelit Dies, In Color Sequin Assortment, White Baker's Twine

The As You See It Challenge this week was a supply one:

The challenge for me was the ripped edge. I haven't done that for a whole on a card! But it worked well to rip the edge of the Big News sentiment. I am not sure the Tangelo Twist really goes with Pink Pirouette, but it does add a contrast that is growing on me.

You still have time to join us this week at As You You See It, peek at past challenges, and visit the awesome team of designers!

Speaking of the Designers, I would like to thank them for picking me for last week's As You See It Challenge #047 Featured Artist. How awesome! You can see my creation here.

Dreamy Collage

This was the most popular card we made at the Stamping Day Away. I just love these colors together!

Stamps: World of Dreams
Paper: Lost Lagoon, Island Indigo, Typeset Specialty Designer Paper
Ink: Lost Lagoon, Wisteria Wonder, Pistachio Pudding, Island Indigo
Accessories: In Color Sequins, Lost Lagoon 3/8" Hand Stitched Ribbon

This is a pretty straightforward card to make. I just stamped directly on the Typeset Speciality Designer Paper  with the images going off the page, added layers, added Pistachio Sequins, and the ribbon. Very easy and cute.

Calypso Coral Night of Navy Thanks

Today's color combination came from the Designer Series Paper I decided to use, Flower Pot Designer Series Paper.
You can't really tell photo but the paper I'm using for my focus is the inside of the white flowery kind.

I love those flowers from Beautiful Bunch colored with Blendabilities. The contrast of the blue tones with the coral tones is beautiful.

Stamps: Beautiful Bunch, Lots of Thanks
Paper: Flower Pot Designer Series Paper, Pool Party, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Ink: Calypso Coral  and Night of Navy Blendabilities Markers, Night of Navy
Accessories: Pearls Basic Jewels, Envelope Punch Board (to round corners), Fun Flower Punch, 1/4" Whisper White Cotton Ribbon

Check out the pearls and ribbon. I colored them both with Blenabilities! So cool how the Blendabilities color without rubbing off!

The sketch came from my quest to do the As You See It Challenge Every Week this summer!

Neat sketch. Check out all the amazing cards with this sketch and join us!

A Fancy Hat

Oh Boy! What a weekend! Two days at the Menominee Indian Contest Powwow wore me out. Ok. Not true. Anything wears me out, but I did come at 5 today and lay down to rest and woke up at 8. I don't usually start my stamping time after 8, but tonight I am.  Today's post is a fun card that we'll be making at the Stamping Day Away on Wednesday.

Stamps: None
Paper: Blackberry Bliss
Ink: none
Accessories: Oval Framelits, Tea Lace Paper Doilies, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, 5/8" Organza Ribbon, Itty Bitty Accent Flower Punch, 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Petite Petals Punch, Pearls Basic Jewels

You could add a sentiment inside the hat, if you wish. I just didn't feel like it.

I got the idea from this Swap from my friend Linda Rodenberg at Pretty Inky.

Project Life: Mini-Vacay Day 1

Well, I found some time this week to start documenting my mini-vacation. Here are the two Project Life Pages I created:

I used the Everyday Adventure kit on this one.

Here was my scrappin' partner in crime:

My nephew was working on his France/Spain Trip photos. He was enjoying how easy it was to make his photos look cool.
