Penguin Birthday Invitations

My niece Clare is turning 7 and she has decided to have a Penguin Party and told me that I get to make the decorations and the invitations. Lucky for me, I have the Snow Place stamp set and this idea:

Pretty cute, huh? She wanted blue colors, but I also know she likes EVERY SINGLE ONE of my blue Stampin' Up! markers, so I used three man colors- Dapper Denim, Pool Party, and Tempting Turquoise.

I also wanted hem to be easy since I needed 13 and wanted to get them done so I could scrapbook. However, I talked too much last weekend so didn't scrapbook.

She had "Friendship Day" at her school, so made her cards for her classmates. She used a retired Stampin' Up! Stamp Set and colored them with EVERY SINGLE COLOR! Each one was different.

Anyway, sometimes it's the easy cards that are the cutest.

By the way, she turns 7 tomorrow!

Happy Stamper Tag

Remember how I said I could spend days playing with the Cool Tee Bundle? Well, I got a chance to play.

I made the spring popcorn, which really was popcorn, white chocolate and colored mini marshmellows. Not hard, but yummy and cheerful in our cello bags. The little shirt "opens" up at the bottom to reveal my message to the recipient. To do that, I just made sure a fold in my paper wasn't getting cut off by the framelit. I forgot to take a picture, but it does work!

I added a little wink of stella on the flower along with a rhinestone. I think the doilies make a cute skirt.

Just For You Inside the Lines Color Your Own Card Set

I always create gifts for people that attend  my retreats and this time, I knew I wanted to create a project kit that folks could work on or take home to finish. I made a set of cards using the Inside the Lines Designer Series paper and created a little envelope box to store them.

and the box:

I used one pack of the Inside the Lines Designer Series paper to make 80 cards plus the covers. WOW. That's a lot of cards.

I made a little video showing how I used the Envelope Punch Board to make the box:

A Sweetheart of a Card

My dad always gives my sister and I Sweetheart candies at Valentine's Day, even as adults. When I was stamping with the Adorning Arrows My Paper Pumpkin Kit from January, I envisioned a sweetheart card. I've seen some online by other subscribers, but here's my version:

I love how the Rose Red ink blurred when I watercolored--just like the real ones. Some were so blurry they were hard to read as kids.

Basically, I stamped in Basic Black for the edges of the hearts, then the messages in Rose Red, and then used an Aquainter Painter to add the pastel colors. Pretty easy and basic. I tried many embellishments, but just love it simple.

I also finished up the rest of the treat boxes from the Adorning Arrows kit and as I did, I realized this tip:

I had wasted a few of the diecuts because I was bad at aiming. However, once I set the white diecut on the darker paper, I could tell exactly where to stamp.

Remember, there's a Sale-a-bration Special if you want to join the My Paper Pumpkin Club!

Inside the Lines Dragonfly Dreams

Sorry to be MIA this week, I have been ill with a strange flu that was basically a bad fever, and not up to doing much more than sleep when I get home from work. Enough excuses, here's a project for today!

Check out this card- quick, easy, and cute! QEC!

I colored with the watercolor pencils and then washed over with an aquapainter.  The dragonfly from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits out of Bermuda Bay is accented by a stripe of Bermuda Bay 1/8" ribbon and the Bermuda Bay ink and paper matte.

I added more details on the inside:

The saying is a sweet sentiment for a friend to thank them for anything. Those bees are perfect accents inside!

Lily Ink Pad Video: Watercoloring Basics with Inside the Lines

I finally did it! Only two weeks after I asked what kind of video tutorial to post, I finally have the video completed. My audio was terrible, so I took it out- so it's silent.

These are the projects I made with my work from the video.

I used the All Things Thanks Stamp Set to add sentiments directly to the paper and to different tags. The Tasty Treats Washi Tape coordinated well with these colors as well as the Metallic Gold Ribbon.

The Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper is only available as a Sale-a-bration Reward. Here is a bundle idea to earn this fabulous paper!
