My Paper Pumpkin- Peeking Bunny

I love the creativity of stamping and I love getting My Paper Pumpkin every month. Each one has been a special surprise. This month's kit is named Bunny Buddies and is very cute. I have to share my creative alternative to the kit directions.

Those ears caught my heart and I HAD to use them like this! I hope you like it. We will be making it at our next Stampin' Celebrations Class.

I just love those ears. I stamped them in Archival Basic Gray and then used my Aquapainter and Basic Gray along with Blushing Bride.  I stamped the eggs and the sentiment in Sweet Sugarplum. The Washi Tape is from the Playful Palette suite and the banner is from the the Duet Banner Punch. I just trimmed off the end.

Check out that grass1 I used my Fringe Scissors to cut a 2" strip of cardstock and then used my bone folder to curl the grass. Next, I use my paper snips to cut jagged edges.

I will be posting more alternatives as I've spent a week playing with this set and kit. Be ready to see more this week!

This is the last week you can buy My Paper Pumpkin 3 month subscription and earn a Sale-a-bration item!

A Super-Sketch for a Supercard...

Empowerment is a key to my daily life. I feel like I am empowering my girl students to be strong, to speak up, and to be leaders. The boys, too, but the girls in my homeroom, especially, aren't as confident as I would hope them to be. I try to give that that confidence with notes and by listening and today I was reminded of how powerful that can be.

Last night, I created this card for the As You See It Challenge and it fits my day today.

I love this sketch, but I had the buildings in my mind right away and couldn't shake it. So, I used the ink pads for color along with my Aquapainters to paint a skyscape. I decided to use the female superhero and put her on a pedestal--well, a power cloud.

The sky was created by watercolor-washing Pacific Point for texture.

I also decorated the inside:

How to Dress Like a Leprechaun

I always make a St. Patrick's Day card for my Stampin' Celebrations Group and it is always hard because there isn't a lot of dedicated St. Patrick's Day stamps. However, once I started looking for products I could use, my desk was covered! The whole idea on this card started with the little tophat from Snow Place Photopolymer set. Then, I thought about what a leprechaun could wear and decided to create this:

I am in love with this card! I used the Custom Tee photopolymer stamp set to create the suit. I colored it using Emerald Envy, Pear Pizzazz, Mint Macaron, Garden Green, and Wild Wasabi markers. I added some flair with the Wink of Stella in gold. To make the hat coordinate better, I added an outline using my Basic Black Marker.  Under the Good Luck Banner is a Gold Foil Banner, even though the picture makes it look yellow. Under the Top Hat, is a 1 3/8" Circle Punch out of the Pear Pizzazz Glimmer Paper. The shamrock background was made with a heart from Sealed with Love.

I hope you like it!

Glimmer Dragonflies

I have to make a pink card for my sister's birthday workshop every year- it's a tradition. Here was this year's version:

I used the Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer Paper with the Detailed Dragonflies for a focal point. The background of the Falling In Love Designer Series Paper highlights the glimmer and the flower embellishment sparkles in light.  Easy and fun card!

Cool Treat, Cool Card

I love fun folds and my sister doesn't as much. For her birthday workshop, I decided to go all out on my use of Designer Series Paper and create a fun fold. The card was loved, but perhaps, that was my awesome preparation of materials!

This is a fun fold card that reveals the message inside. Plus, it stands up on its own so it's perfect for display!

I used all of the papers in this package to and every one of them makes a cute card with the same sundae on front. My peeps took them home, so I have no other photographs, but trust me. Awesome cards.

I love the little spoon detail. I cut them out of Silver Foil Sheets, which was pretty easy. I found that to avoid extra texture from the embossing plate on my foil, I cut little spoon-sized pieces to cut out.  That way, my area left was crisp and clear of dents.

This double fold gate card is made with a 5 1/2 by 12" piece of Designer Series Paper. Score at 2", 4", 8". Then, cut off a triangle from the middle of each side to the middle score lines. The final trick is to put those triangles on the bottom of the card with the opposite side up. Dawn Olcheske has an excellent video on her blog Do Stamping. That's where I learned this technique.

I just love this suite of products and this was really fun to design and make!

Spring Colors: Yellow Flowers

Last week, on my Lily Ink Pad facebook  page,  I shared Pantone's Spring Colors and asked which one was preferred.

I agree with Mary and decided to go with a yellow color on my flowers, so I made this card for my Stampin' Celebrations group.

I love the So Very Much Stamp and have been wanting to use it. I am thrilled with how beautiful the Dapper Denim is in contrast to the Crushed Curry.  I feel spring coming by looking at his card! I used two Sale-a-bration items on this card: So very Much and Avant Garden. Both are available for free with a $50 order. As always, here is one way to earn the product of your choice:

February 2017 My Paper Pumpkin: Many Happy Birthdays

I love birthdays and I am loving My Paper Pumpkin! I made all of these projects (and the remaining 3 cards all in one evening between a long day at school and an early beditme. I like how I can use the kit ideas, but still feel creative by adding my own flourishes and creating extra cards!

I had the most fun using the Candle Border Punch and the Star Punch on the Gold Glimmer Paper scraps, even though I am not usually a glitzy girl. This was so much fun!

On the Bias: Birthday Wishes!

When I need inspiration, I go to the As You See It Challenge and this week I found the perfect inspiration to create this card:

Here's the sketch challenge template:

Perfect, right? I wanted to use the Party Animal Designer Washi Tape on a card along with the Birthday Candles Border Punch and this was perfect! I love how easy it is to create awesome cards with a coordinating suite.  The Party Animal Designer Series paper Strips were a perfect accent of contrasting colors to use on this card!
