Birthday Baker

My Stampin' Celebrations group meets today and hopefully will love this card:

It took me three tries to get a design that 1) didn't take forever to complete and 2) I had supplies for to make 40 cards.  My first two designs were great, but didn't meet the requirements, so I'll show them another day.

My plan was to mimic the Campell's Soup Kids artwork. The watercolor/colored pencil look was my plan. I then knew that to get a white for the coat, I needed a Crumb Cake or Sahara Sand background. Crumb Cake looked better, so I went with that. I stamped the baker with Basic Black and them colored him with watercolor pencils. My final step was to brush over the pencil with a blender pen. The darker colors blend well like watercolor. The white sometimes got wiped off, so I re-colored after it dried and re-blendered. It shows up pretty well, huh?

The little stripes of Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper add an accent. I created the curve by putting the end of my paper in the backside of a circle punch.

The inside needed a little more fun, so I added some birthday hats stamped in Real Red, and a strip of Designer Series Paper.
Happy Stamping! Sara
