Picture Perfect Celebration Card

I love cards that are quick, easy, and cute. This is one of them:

The card sketch is fun and the colors are vibrant. I discovered that I could use any of the photo papers in the Picture Perfect Designer Series Paper Stack as they all looked great. The Pool Party piece was embossed with the Scattered Sequins Dynamic Embossing Folder and I used the Balloon punch to punch out coordinated balloons. The celebrate is from the Celebrate You Thinlit Dies, which can be earned for Free with a $100 purchase. I am in love with the Myths and Magic Glimmer Paper and used the Bermuda Bay one here, but the Lemon Lime Twist one look just as cool. Mix and match and make a bundle of cards quickly!

Truly Tailored Bow-tie

When I first saw the Truly Tailored Suite in the Occasions Catalog, I thought of bow ties.

I tried using the bow punch, but found it too small for my focal point. So... I experimented with the Tailored Tag Punch and created one of my own. Just fold two punched shapes in half and adhere with a glue dot. Then, put them together and wrap around the middle with small strip of the Designer Series Paper that I cut from around the punched shapes. I then added a background of three punches to look like argyle. The sentiment was designed to fit the punch! I also added a bowtie and sentiment inside.

My Inky Friends Design Challenge #2: Unicorn Crossing

The Stampin' Up! catalog has amazing color combinations. This My Inky Friends Design Challenge uses one from page 35 of the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog. Each month, we get together to share our ideas for a challenge. You can check out what the the other Inky Friends designed and play along here.

I love this bright color combination. I immediately thought of Clare's ponies, so I designed a Unicorn card:

I just love this unicorn from the Magical Day Stamp Set. The colors look more like Fresh Fig in this photo. but it really is Berry Burst. The paper is from the Picture Perfect Designer Series Paper. One side has these amazing photographs and the other these awesome patterns. I love the Tutti-Fruitti self-adhesive sequins, which happen to come in the colors I needed! The Scattered Sequins Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder adds texture to the Soft Sky layer. I also used some of the Myths and Magic Glimmer Paper. My niece is going to go crazy over this card! I can't wait to show her.

Here is the inside:

I stamped directly on the Lemon Lime Twist with Berry Burst with the sentiment and added the flair.

Join us at the My Inky Friends Design Challenge this month. I'd love to see what you create!

Petal Passion Card

An Elegant card for today...

I made it a thank-you card, but it would be cool for any occasion- even a wedding.

I used a 4 x 5 piece of Petal Passion Designer Series paper and a strip of 1 1/2 inch by 5 piece of the White Glimmer from the Myths and Magic Glimmer Paper. I layed them on my Basic Black cardstock and then trimmed them to fit the card. I use the Stitched framelits to cut a small circle and added a flower bunch from the Petals and More Framelits. I added a spring behind for an accent as well as a strip of the Silver Foil paper. A little stamping inside, and Voila! a great card!

Brusho Butterflies

Two weeks ago, I went Live on Facebook to showcase the Occasions catalog. Today, I am sharing the results of that playing around!

First up, I edited and shortened the video if you missed it. Don't worry, I left plenty of my gasps of surprise!

I only watercolored the cards that night. I transformed them into cards and here they are:

I adhered this one to an Island Indigo base, added an inside using the Petal Palette sentiments. I love layering these little bits! My final touch was a few Glitter Enamel Dots.

I over absorbed the color on this one, it was very muddled, so wanted to see what would happen if I added some handdrawn accents. I used my journaling pen to outline along the embossed edge. It was easier than I thought it would be and I like it. I trimmed this one and added it to a Thick Whisper White base and also added the sentiment banner from the Beautiful Day stamp set. I also added a few Clear and Glitter Epoxy Shapes.

I love this one. I added a Thick Whisper White base and some Clear and Glitter Epoxy Shapes. Simple is best.

This one is brilliant in real life. So much fun. Same as the previous two. I was on a roll.

This one is A-MAH-ZING! The colors are simply striking.

I went for a different look here. I fussy cut the butterfly, added some Myths and Magic Washi Tape and placed it on the Falling Petals Embossed Pool Party piece. I added more Glimmer Dots for fun.

I created this butterfly as trial before I went live, but I love it. I did the same as the others--such a fun and simple way to make a great set of cards!

I hope you enjoyed my cards!

Petal Palette One Sheet Wonder

I shared my One Sheet Wonder for the Time to Celebrate My Inky Friends Blog Hop.  I couldn't show everything I wanted to, so today's post wraps that up.

My finale first:

I separated my 12 cards into 3 sets of 4 so I could give them as gifts. The acetate boxes from the Holiday Catalog have carried over and are still available. Such a great way to package a set of cards. My 4 cards with layers and envelopes fit snugly.

Here is my first video about how I colored the paper.

For those of you who don't like videos, I learned a few things by playing with my blends.
1) The Color Lifter creates a third shade
2) I prefer to color dark and then blend with light.
3) Two layers of different colors create a third color.
4) I still never look at the lines on the markers before I open the cap.
5) Its's a ton of fun.
6) I am an artist with no training whatsoever!

Just as a reminder, I created this one sheet wonder this way:

Here is my video that describes it better and gives directions on how to cut the pieces.

And here is the template I created.

and here's the template with the cutting guide:

And here are the cards again:

My set of projects began after I spent an evening playing with my Blends and the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper. I ended up with a beautiful 12 x 12 piece of work that I decided to rework into a One Sheet Wonder.

Come back to my blog on Sunday to get a better template to recreate my projects. For now, I am just going to show you the cards.  I'll post supplies and more tips in my next post. I want you to be able to see all the fabulous blogs in this hop!

These two are classic card sketches. The flowers are the centerpiece, but the sayings are bold and fun. The amazing on card K was cut out of the White Glimmer Paper, but then colored with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends Marker.

I cut the amazing sentiment out of the White Glimmer Paper from the Myths and Magic Glimmer Paper. The other card, used the Celebrate to cut out the sentiment directly from the card.

I love both of these cards. I cut the Card C piece along a diagonal and separated it with a Pool Party Celebrate. The card G uses a cut out circle for a focus, so I added a layer of White Glimmer and a stitched framelit circle that I stamped the bird and branch from Petal Palette Stamp Set. To make the celebrate stand out, I layered a Daffodil Delight Celebrate offset on top of a Basic Black celebrate.

On these two cards, I used the sentiments on a banner. The amazing is on a strip of White Glimmer Paper and the Celebrate was curved as I put it on a Whisper White banner.

Card I looks simple, but I love the use of the black space. Card H uses the circle cut out of G and then an extra part I cut from the bird circle in the other card. It was a scrap just sitting in my desk and I love that I could incorporate it.

I used Glimmer paper on these two cards also. I added a bit of Black Shimmer Ribbon and a bow for some fun.

I hope you like my projects. I had a fun time creating them!

Next up, visit Twila's blog to see her Happy Wishes Project, which are amazing.

Dragon Magic

When I saw the Myths and Magic Suite in the 2018 Occasions catalog, I knew I was going to own it. In fact, it was the first stamp set I played with during my vacation. Here is one of the cards I created that I love:

I used Brusho and an aquapainter to paint the ground and fire. I also had a piece of watercolor paper that I had used Brusho (Prussion Blue and Moss) to make a background. I stamped the dragon with Basic Black and then cut him out (forgetting I had a framelit to do the job).  I made sure where I was going to place him and then added the fire and ground. For some fun, I added silver enamel stars. The Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper made a great matte layer!

Inside, I added two strips of Myths and Magic Washi Tape and the sentiment. I love this card.
