A Magical Day for an 8 Year Old

Clare turned 8 on Saturday, so I've been spending my time getting ready. She really wanted a Hatchimals party until I convinced her that my new Stampin' Up! stamp set Magical Day had a great Unicorn, so we should have a Unicorn Party! She agreed and we partied:

First, I made these invitations. Thanks to Stampin' Up! I was able to design an invite that one of her friends said, "You are so talented! I had to come to see what else you made for Clare." Hil-a-rious coming from a sweet 7 year old! But, she's right, I did have fun coming up with lots more!

The Invite uses a rainbow of Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party, and Wisteria Wonder. My pads were dry, so I just reinked them before I started. Some of the colors are deeper than normal. The rainbow was created with repeatedly stamping the brushstroke from Work of Art. The Unicorn was colored with my Stampin' Up! markers. I added some glitz with a circle punched from the Myths and Magic Glimmer Paper and some Wink of Stella on the rainbow. I cut the celebrate in gold foil with my big shot.

We also used the Myths and Magic set to make toppers for the unicorn slime jars.

They each stamped the image of their choice--which was mostly unicorns except for the one boy who made a pretty cool dragon. They used the retired Gold marker as they wished, so it applied liberally.

I also went over the top with decorations. I used my Silhouette Ecutter to cut the flowers, horns, and eyes out of the Stampin' Up! Cardstock. I painted paper mache cones for unicorns. The banner used Stampin' Up! cardstock. I took a terrible picture. Hopefully, my mom or sister got a better one.

My sister is the cake decorator, so she made the cute unicorn cake. The girls loved it. Don enjoyed napping while the 7 screaming girls ran around him! We also made the headbands. Thank god for hot glue!

Happy Stamping!
