My Inky Friends A Fond Farewell Blog Hop: A Garden in Bloom

It's time to give a few retiring sets a proper send off, so My Inky Friends have gathered together to have some fun! We each picked a favorite set from the Retiring list to share with you. Welcome to the Fond Farewell Blog Hop!

Did you come from Rhonda's Basket of Wishes blog? How pretty! If you keep traveling in our circle, you'll see Mickey's use of So Many Shells. Living in Florida, I'd bet she has some fabulous inspiration! I chose to use  Garden in Bloom.

I made a trio of projects that show the versatility of this stamp set. This is one of those sets that works with every technique, every sketch, and every color combo. I had some fun with this one!

The project I first wanted to do was this one using one of my favorite colors--Fresh Fig.

I stamped both layers of the flower in Fresh Fig and added a Basic Black outline. The leaves were Old Olive with the same outline. The butterfly was inked in Pool Party with a little of the Crushed Curry to accent. The bee was fussy cut after I stamped it in Crushed Curry and Basic Black. Inside I made it pretty with a row of the same flowers.

My next card used the Basic Black outline stamps to create my own coloring page.

I then used my Stampin' Blends to color the images. I used the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper as my background paper. How fun. I don't need to leave my house to have a Paint and Palette experience!

My final card uses my new favorite tool...the Stamparatus.

I used a template and my Stamparatus to crate the wreath using the butterfly stamps from A Garden in Bloom. It was fun technique to try and I like the results. Plus, I used Pink and Gray for my color palatte, a stretch for me.

I hope you enjoyed my projects as well as the rest of the stops on our hop.

See you next month!

Happy Stamping!

  1. The wreath stamping is almost addictive, isn't it?! LOVE it. But I think my favorite here was the stamping and coloring on the Wood Textures DSP, lovely!

  2. I love your second card with the wood grained paper background. Beautiful! Your butterfly wreath is adorable. I haven't seen anyone create this yet! Very pretty.

  3. Wonderful cards! I love the Painted Wood one. That is my fave dsp pattern. I also love your little card display stand!

  4. Love them all, but the whitewashed Wood Textures one is my fave!

  5. Very pretty cards! I love the way you made a wreath-too cool!

Thanks for commenting! I love feedback!
